Historic Beaver Mill, North Adams - Next to Natural Bridge State Park

Forty art studios (work-only) for artists working in a variety of processes.  Many of the artists have been in the mill for decades but there is a small turnover each year.  Contact Eric@Beavermill.com for information/availability.  Studios range from a few hundred to a few thousand square feet, with high ceilings and great light.  Economical rates include all utilities, parking, trash/recycling.  Studios are private with 24/7 acres.  Larger studios have private bathrooms.  Sorry but flammable processes allowed. 

12 contemporary rooms within the Historic Beaver Mill housing 40 artist studios and the Rudd Art Foundation Studio/Museum, adjacent to Natural Bridge State Park, and just one mile to MASS MoCA, MCLA, and Downtown North Adams.  

We are currently under construction; therefore, we can’t answer any inquiries or make reservations until our systems go “online” after MAY 2026.  Please, stay tuned! 

You’ll love our location – in an historic mill, surrounded by parkland and a river, and no more than three minutes away from the North Adams attractions. 

We are geared for artists, performers and visitors interested in the arts. We encourage longer stays – a 3-day minimum but 6-day, 9-day, 12-day stays or longer are common for people in the arts (some might be participating at MASS MoCA or using art studios elsewhere in the mill).  

There’s no need to eat out every day and for every meal - a communal kitchen on the second floor allows basic food preparation (guests have personal refrigerator/cabinet storage space).  Additionally, we have lots of interior space for dining, meetings, or work to make longer stays more pleasant.  During warmer months, there are outdoor tables in our private yard or river park.

Free WIFI and onsite parking.  All rooms have Queen beds (nine rooms with private ensuite bathrooms with large showers, 3 second-floor rooms with private bathrooms outside the rooms), Smart TVs, desk, safe, fan; we use contactless check-in with a digital lock system.  

Economical rates with three-day minimum stays and additional discounts for longer stays.  Sorry, no smoking, pets, or children under 16.  We have an accessible ADA room on the first floor. Second floor rooms and common spaces require going up stairs.  

During summer months for guests who might have medical concerns and need climate-controlled air, we do not recommend our Inn.  Our rooms are on the first and second floors, inside thick stone walls next to a river; Berkshire nights are cool, so air conditioning is rarely desired. Normally, guests sleep under light blankets during summer months. We have fans and windows for fresh air.

Extra benefits: Free weekly wine/cheese art studio tours, including the Rudd Art Foundation Studio Museum.  During summer and fall, guests have free admission to the Berkshire Art Museum.  A gift-book of “Portrait of the Northern Berkshires” is given for all stays.  For artists staying two weeks or longer, an adjacent private art/work studio on the second floor (200 square feet) is available for an additional rental fee.

Architecturally stunning - ocean view villa, with up to five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Lap-length swimming pool (gated).  Set on a close-in hilltop, Villa Cielito hasstunning ocean, town and valley views but is located away from the noise - just three or four blocks from the plaza and beach.  Location, location, location - you won’t need a car, and you won’t need to walk far to get to the town’s center or beach or one of the town's 150 restaurants.  Economical even if you only need two bedrooms.  Normally available May through December, including Xmas/New Year's holiday periods.  Sayulita is an easy 22-mile taxi ride from the Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR).  Enjoy the festive town  and beach; try surfing, yoga, pickleball, and of course, margaritas.  It's the perfect vacation.
